WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.-Brainerd High School graduate Nick Anderson pitched one inning for Minnesota in the Twins' 8-4 loss to the Houston Astros in a Spring Training game Wednesday.
Anderson entered the game in the third inning. He allowed two hits and one run (earned).
In two minor league seasons split between the Twins' affiliates in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Fort Myers, Fla., Anderson has compiled a career record of 4-4 with a 2.33 ERA. In 51 appearances, he has converted 17 of 20 save opportunities.
In 69.2 total innings, he has allowed 46 hits and 20 runs (18 earned) with 16 walks and 87 strikeouts. Opponents are batting just .187 against him.
The 6-foot-5, 195-pound right-hander was drafted in Round 32 (995th overall) in 2012 by the Milwaukee Brewers but did not sign. He signed with the Twins as a minor league free agent out of an independent league Aug. 7, 2015.

Anderson, who started his collegiate career at St. Cloud State University, finished at Mayville State University in North Dakota.
