Led by Braeden Anderson's varsity boys win, Crosby-Ironton won the season-opening Mountain Bike race Sunday at the Jail Trail in St. Cloud.

The Cuyuna Lakes Composite team placed third.

Earning podium finishes in the junior varsity division were Kaleb Bauer of C-I in second, Peter Nierenhausen of the composite team in fifth and Javan Hemsworth of Brainerd in sixth.

Trevor Hutchison of C-I was the top sophomore boy.

Jay Hunter of C-I placed eighth in the boys seventh-grade division with Brooke Johnson of C-I placing third on the girls side.

The next race will be Sept. 24 at Gamehaven in Rochester.
