MSHSL: 3 finalists selected for executive director position

BROOKLYN CENTER--The Minnesota State High School League announced Monday that three finalists have been selected for the executive director position.

BROOKLYN CENTER-The Minnesota State High School League announced Monday that three finalists have been selected for the executive director position.

The three finalists, in alphabetical order, that will be interviewed today:

• Mindy Chevalier, currently community education director/assistant principal at Belle Plaine High School.

• Erich Martens, principal at Sauk Rapids-Rice High School.

• Troy Urdahl, activities and facilities director at St. Anthony Village High School.

The selection committee announced that all three finalists have extensive experience with the MSHSL and high school activities. The committee will make a recommendation to the MSHSL Board of Directors for consideration at its meeting Nov. 30.

The selected finalist will take over for long-time MSHSL executive director Dave Stead, who announced in August that he will transition to a senior administrative role. Stead is the longest-serving executive director in the MSHSL's 101-year history. Stead was hired as an associate director in 1986, and two years later, was promoted to executive director position.
Starting date for the selected finalist is to be determined.
