Clint Baker of the Brainerd Warriors has been named the Minnesota State High School Coaches Association Nordic Skiing Assistant Coach of the Year.

Baker, a Brainerd varsity and junior varsity assistant since 2014-15, has been involved with the Warrior Nordic ski team as a parent, volunteer and assistant coach for 11 years.

He has been a member of the Brainerd Nordic Ski Club and a trails committee member for eight years.

A recognition ceremony by the Minnesota State High School Coaches Association is scheduled Oct. 14 in Minnetonka at the annual Hall of Fame Awards banquet.

The selection is made by the Minnesota State High School Nordic Coaches Association head coaches each spring. Each section nominates a head and assistant coach and a volunteer for consideration for the state-level honor.
