Wild rice season is in full swing.
The Minnesota wild rice season is between Aug. 15 and Sept. 30.
Ricers must wait until the rice is ripe before harvest even though the season has begun.

Many of the species are predisposed to be sedentary and lurk in hard-to-find places. Some may "learn" to avoid anglers altogether.
