Curling: Competition kicks off for Club National Championships
Following an Opening Ceremony that featured bagpipes and pageantry, the Club National Championships kicked off with two rounds of curling at the Brainerd Lakes Curling Club Saturday and Sunday.
The national tournament is USA Curling's largest and more prestigious tournament, featuring the 10 best men's and 10 best women's teams representing curling clubs from throughout the country.
Teams play 10-end games. Teams play the nine other teams in round-robin play through Thursday, followed by semifinals Friday night and the final at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
Games are played daily at 8 a.m., noon, 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Daily admission is $5 or $10 for families. Weekly passes are available for $10 for individuals or $20 for families.
The club is located in the Crow Wing County Fairgrounds, 2000 13th St. S.E., Brainerd.
