Land & Waters Preservation Trust announces grant opportunity
Land & Waters Preservation Trust Endowment will award $10,000 in grants to worthy projects in April.
Land & Waters, administered by the Initiative Foundation, is a joint endowment of Whitefish Area Property Owners Association and the Pine River Watershed Alliance.
The grant application submission period is Jan. 15 through Feb. 28.
Further information may be requested with a deadline of March 30. Grants will be made on April 15 and projects should be completed in 2019. Project grants will be made for proposals from 501(c)(3) organizations that fit one or more of the following priorities:
• Enhancing and protecting surface and aquifer water quality in the Pine River Watershed;
• Supporting sustainable riparian land management practices; and
• Protecting habitat for native plants and animals.
Applicants may be lake associations, local units of government, or environmental groups. Projects proposed by the two parent organizations, WAPOA and PRWA, will also be considered.
