What's Up Outdoors: Ready for Rainy River sturgeon
Now that I'm pretty sure the seasons are changing, the ice fishing gear is put away and the boat is out and getting prepped for sturgeon fishing. Our annual trip kicks off next week and if the bite holds on it's going to be a great one.
So if your eager to hit the water this is a bucket list trip that is very easily done. With the resorts on the Rainy River starting to cater to sturgeon fisherman and the bait shops in Baudette stocked up on gear—all you have to do is get there and you will have it figured out in no time. And with a good chance of over a 50-inch fish on the other end of your line you will probably make it an annual trip also.
Since open water is coming there is a really cool event coming up. On May 3-4 at the Sidetrack bar there will be a fishing consignment sale. There will be everything there that has to do with any kind of fishing. And since part of each sale goes to benefit Confidence Learning Center you have a great reason to buy some more tackle—that's going to be my excuse anyway. If you have some extra gear you want to sell you can call 218-828-2344 or email email@example.com. We will see you there.
