Pirates use air and ground attack to defeat Laporte

VERNDALE - Mack Jones threw for three scores and Taylor Willis recorded a punt return and a rushing touchdown in a regular season ending 38-0 win over winless Laporte on Thursday.

Jones' 69-yard pass to Ethan Orlando got the scoring started in the first quarter. Jones also connected with Zach Johnson on a 16-yard pass to end the first quarter at 14-0. The Pirates went to halftime up 20-6 on a connection from Jones to Schluttner.

After two scores from Willis, Ronn Cory ended the scoring with a 1-yard run.

Willis led the team in rushing with seven rushes for 75 yards. Jones completed three passes on seven attempts for 140 yards.
