Alpine Skiing: Mount Ski Gull collects 2 1sts

The Mount Ski Gull team competed at Giants Ridge.

BIWABIK — Derek Halbur and Logan Omberg both collected first-place finishes for the Mount Ski Gull team in the Northland Junior Race Series Jan. 23 at Giants Ridge.

Halbur’s win came in the boys 14-15 age group, while Omberg posted a 1:19.8 to win the boys 16-and-over division.

Phillip Majka secured a second in the boys 6-7 division.

Cecelya Rasinski was the top girls’ skier with a third-place finish in the girls 10-11 age group.
