Amateur Baseball: DeRosier powers Fort Ripley to 2 wins

PIERZ — Riley DeRosier recorded two doubles for the Fort Ripley Rebels in their 10-6 win over the Pierz Bulldogs Friday, June 17.

Seth Vagts had three hits, while Bryce Flanagan, Josh Hukriede and Bill Sather all tallied two hits.

Jack Schafer ripped a double for his only hit for the Rebels.

Adam Jensen got the win and pitched five innings and struck out three.

Pierz was led by Max Barclay who had two hits and two RBIs.

Justin Eschenbacher got tagged with the loss and struck out three.

ST. STEPHEN — Riley DeRosier went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs as the Fort Ripley Rebels defeated the St. Stephen Steves 9-3 Sunday, June 19.

Adam Jensen, Alex Haapajoki and Josh Hukriede each tallied two hits for the Rebels in the win.

Bryce Flanagan pitched a complete game and struck out five.

AITKIN — Mike Poser lashed two hits including a double and scored two runs for the Pierz Brewers in their 3-2 win over the Aitkin Steam Saturday, June 18.

Peter Schommer got the win and pitched a complete game and struck out six.

Aitkin was led by Jeremy Janzen who pitched eight innings and struck out six.

Jon Blanchette got an extra-base hit for the Steam.

BUCKMAN — Travis and Joe Kahl each had two hits for the Buckman Billygoats in their 5-3 loss to the Foley Lumberjacks Saturday, June 18.

Noah Boser also had two hits for the Billygoats.

Todd Robinson started and pitched six innings and struck out three. Matt Tautges got tagged with the loss and struck out one.

BUCKMAN — Collin Kray and Zach Opatz each ripped doubles for the Sobieski Skis in their 6-3 win over the Buckman Billygoats in 11 innings Sunday, June 19.

Collin Eckman tallied two RBIs and Riley Hirsch had two hits for the Skis.

Buckman was led by Lane Girtz and Noah Boser who each recorded two hits including a double.

SOBIESKI — Beau Thoma pitched eight innings, allowed one hit and struck out five to help the Sobieski Skis get a 1-0 win over the Opole Bears Saturday, June 18.

Collin Eckman pitched a scoreless ninth inning to get the save and struck out one.

Eckman also drove in the lone run for the Skis with a fourth inning double which scored Matt Baier.

Chris Reller also had a double for the Skis

FLENSBURG — Preston Rocheleau pitched eight innings and struck out 13 to help the Pierz Lakers beat the Flensburg Falcons 8-1 Sunday, June 19.

Pete Herman and Mitch Woitalla each tallied two hits for the Lakers in the win.

OPOLE — Hunter Wicklund recorded two hits and two RBIs for the St. Mathias Devils in their 4-3 win over the Opole Bears Sunday, June 19.

Alex Guggisberg pitched six innings and struck out three. Dillion Solid got the win and pitched three innings and struck out three.

AVON — Tory Miller drove in both runs for the Nisswa Lightning in their 3-2 loss to the Avon Lakers Sunday, June 19.

Drew Boland had two hits in the loss for Nisswa.

AITKIN — The Aitkin Steam knocked off the Freeport Black Sox 10-7 Sunday, June 19.

PIERZ — The Pierz Bulldogs pounded out 14 hits in their 8-3 win over the Swanville Swans Sunday, June 19.
