SOBIESKI — Five home runs powered the Brainerd Bees past the Moorhead Mudcats 7-4 in the loser’s bracket game of the Section 2B Tournament Saturday, Aug. 13.
Joel Martin went 3-5 with a solo home run, double and two runs scored. Eli Roberts went deep twice to finish 2-4 with a walk. Mason Argir was 2-5 with a two-run home run and Adam Braun also hit a two-run shot.
Eric Martin pitched the complete game victory. He struck out eight and allowed four runs on 11 hits and one walk.
Brainerd’s season came to a close during a 12-2 loss to the Sobieski Skis. Riley Hirsch and Joey Hanowski each hit a grand slam for the Skis during a nine-run second inning.
Colin Eckman pitched the victory. Ben Domself was tagged with the loss.

Tom Fairbanks finished 2-3 with a solo home run and a double. Joel Martin drove in Brainerd’s other run.
