Area Baseball: Crosby-Ironton drops 2 at home tournament

CROSBY — Clayton Lingen was 3-for-8 with a double and a run scored across two games as the Crosby-Ironton Rangers dropped two games both by a score of 6-1 to Mora and Two Harbors Saturday, May 7.

Lingen started the game against Two Harbors and went three innings and gave up three runs on two hits while striking out eight and was given the loss.

Brayden Holmvig pitched 3.1 innings for the Rangers against Mora and struck out four while giving up one earned run.

Little Falls loses 2

ST. CLOUD — Matt Filippi went 3-for-6 across two games as the Little Falls Flyers lost 7-1 to Owatonna and 4-1 to the St. Cloud Crush Saturday, May 7.

Collin Kray struck out 10 batters on the mound against St. Cloud as he pitched 5.2 innings and gave up two earned runs on eight hits.

Riley Czech was given the loss on the mound against Owatonna as he went four innings and gave up two earned runs on five hits and three walks with three strikeouts.

Zach Gwost doubled against St. Cloud while Hudson Filippi doubled against Owatonna.

WDC drops 2

DEER CREEK — Payton Rondestvedt tallied four hits including a double and a triple over two games as the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines lost two games in the Deer Creek Tournament Saturday, May 7.

WDC fell 16-5 to Watertown-Mayer and 7-2 to Perham. Rondestvedt got the loss to Watertown-Mayer while Josh Dykhoff was tagged with the loss against Perham.

HINCKLEY — The Aitkin Gobblers beat Esko 1-0 and lost to St. Anthony 8-0 at the Hinckley-Finlayson tournament Saturday, May 7.
