Area Baseball: Little Falls collects narrow win over Pierz

PIERZ — Matt Filippi cranked a leadoff home run for the Little Falls in their 2-1 win over the Pierz Pioneers in a Granite Ridge Conference game Wednesday, May 18.

Beau Thoma pitched six innings and struck out seven to get the win while Zach Gwost struck out two to get the save.

Lawrence Filippi and Riley Czech had doubles for the Flyers in the win as well.

Pierz was led by Andy Winscher who had two hits and the only RBI of the game for the Pioneers.

Jeremy Bingesser pitched 5.2 innings and struck out nine, but got tagged with the loss.
