Area Boys Basketball: Hornets advance to semifinals

MINNEAPOLIS — All 10 Lake Region Chrisitan Hornets scored Wednesday, Feb. 23, in a 73-37 victory over No. 8 Chisago in the Minnesota Association of Christian Schools State Quarterfinals.

Trey Ogren led the top-seeded Hornets with 14 points. Logan Backstrom added 12 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists and Josiah McGaffey tallied nine points and seven boards.

Esko 79, Crosby-Ironton 56

ESKO — Jordan Oehrlein and Carsen Turk each scored 18 points for the Crosby-Ironton Rangers as they fell 79-56 to Section 7-2A’s top-seeded Esko Eskomos in a Section 7-2A matchup Wednesday, Feb. 23.

Will Meyer added 10 points for the Rangers who dropped to 16-6 this season.
