Area Boys Golf: PRB’s Zaczkowski advances to state

VIRGINIA — Joseph Zaczkowski will represent the Pine River-Backus Tigers in the Class 1A State Tournament

The PRB junior fired a two-day 161 to place fifth in the Section 7-1A Tournament Thursday, May 26, at Virginia Golf Course.

Zaczkowski shot 83 Thursday to go with his 78 from Wednesday. His Thursday round included birdies on two of his first three holes to find himself 1-over after six. He then hung on to take the third of five individual qualifier spots.

Top five individuals not on the winning team advance to state.

Brady Bristow finished 18th and Isaiah Aulie tied for 19th for the Tigers.


Team scores: 1-Duluth Marshall 622, 2-Walker-Hackensack-Akeley 679, 3-Cass Lake Bena 685, 4-Nevis 689

Individual medalist: Tucker D’Allaird (Duluth Marshall) 142
