Area Boys Golf: Seeling’s ace helps him to title at Cragun’s

Six area teams at Staples-Motley Cardinal Invite May 31

EAST GULL LAKE — Pequot Lakes’ Tyler Seeling carded an ace and three bridies to capture the medalist by tiebreaker with a 71 at the Staples-Motley Cardinal Invite Tuesday, May 31, at Cragun’s Legacy Courses.

Seeling’s ace came on the 107-yard par 3 ninth hole. Staples-Motley’s Carter White finished birdie-par-eagle to also shoot a 71.

As a team the Patriots finished first with a 309. Anthony Armstrong shot 76, Logan Forgarty 80 and Cooper Johnson 82 to help Pequot Lakes get the team title.

Staples-Motley was third with 328 with Grant Bestland firing an 80, Peyton Mithun an 85 and Isaiah Schultz a 92.

Little Falls had five golfers break 90 and finished sixth with 342.


Pierz’s Logan Herold shot 79 to help the Pioneers finish eighth with 352.

Pillager was led by Brayden Berent’s 83 to finish 10th with a score of 355. Aiden Allred shot a 96 for the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines who placed 13th.
