Area Boys Hockey: Lightning outshine Panthers
Three area boys hockey teams hit the ice.
BREEZY POINT — Logan Verville scored two goals for the Northern Lakes Lightning as they defeated the Park Rapids Panthers 9-2 in a Mid-State Conference game Thursday, Jan. 27.
Isaac Peterson recorded a goal and three assists while Tyler Seeling and Cullen Kratchovil each totaled a goal and two assists.
Colton Craig, Taylor Berg, Andrew Villareal and Karter Lee each scored a goal for Northern Lakes.
Nigel DeSanto stopped 32 of the 34 shots he faced in net.

Little Falls 3 (OT)
LITTLE FALLS — Matt Filippi and Hayden Johnson each recorded a goal and an assist as the Little Falls Flyers fell to the Cambridge-Isanti BlueJackets 4-3 in overtime Thursday Jan. 27.
Luke Avery scored the other goal for the Flyers who scored two goals in the third period to take a 3-2 lead before Cambridge-Isanti’s Will O’Donovan scored a short-handed goal with under a minute left in the third period.
The BlueJackets found the back of the net in overtime to capture the win.
Little Falls outshot Cambridge 62-28.
