Area Girls Golf: Birkeland, Patriots place 2nd

DETROIT LAKES — Genevieve Birkeland fired a 6-over 77 to tie for second and help the Pequot Lakes Patriots to second place in the Detroit Lakes Invite at the Detroit Country Club Tuesday, May 24.

Annie Neva shot an 82 and finished sixth for the Patriots while Morgan Krieger finished eighth after shooting an 83.
Mallory Uselman fired an 86 to tie for 10th.

Pierz places 3rd

ST. CLOUD — Emily Virnig fired a third-place 89 to lead the Pierz Pioneers to third in the St. Cloud Cathedral Invite Tuesday, May 24, at Wapicada Golf Course.

Tiffany Virnig also landed in the top 10 with a ninth-place 102 for Pierz.

Wadena-Deer Creek’s Kayla Meeks also tied for ninth with her 102 to lead the Wolverines to sixth place.
