Area Volleyball: Cardinals collect win over Aitkin

Eight area teams were in action Thursday, Sept. 15.

AITKIN — Staples-Motley’s Oliviah Lorber totaled 15 set assists, seven kills, seven ace serves, two digs and a block for the Cardinals as they bested the Aitkin Gobblers 3-0 Thursday, Sept. 15.

Maggie Claussen recorded 18 digs for the Cardinals.

Jessica Much tallied 26 digs for the Gobblers while Kendal Ratz added eight kills in the Mid-State Conference game.

PARK RAPIDS — Ella Kratochvil finished with nine kills, 12 digs and three ace serves as the Class 2A’s top-ranked Pequot Lakes Patriots defeated the Park Rapids Panthers 3-0 in a Mid-State Conference game Thursday, Sept. 15.

Maci Martini totaled eight kills, 11 digs and three ace serves for the Patriots while Abi Martin recorded 23 set assists and 11 digs.

Isabel Larson tallied seven kills and three blocks while Grace Hoffard added six kills and three blocks for the 5-0 Patriots.

MENAHGA —Wadena-Deer Creek’s Madison Carsten smashed 15 kills while also contributing five digs, two ace serves and a set assist for the Wolverines as they crushed the Menahga Braves 3-0 in a Park Region Conference matchup Thursday, Sept. 15.

Addyson Gravelle tallied 30 set assists for the Wolverines while Peyton Gravelle registered eight kills.
