ALEXANDRIA — Cayden Kleffman tallied three hits and the Brainerd Warriors led in both games of the Central Lakes Conference doubleheader with Alexandria, but the Cardinals rallied to sweep the Warriors 3-2 and 10-2 Thursday, May 5.
Kleffman went 2-3 with a double and an RBI in Game One which the Warriors led 2-1 before the Cardinals stole with two runs in the bottom of the fifth.
Adam Jensen pitched six innings. He struck out nine and gave up just one earned run but took the loss.
The Warriors led 2-0 after two innings of Game Two, but Alexandria scored the next 10 runs. Isaac Hanson, Kouper Seidl and Kleffman each collected hits. Sawyer Hennessey got the start and pitched three innings, giving up three runs on four hits.
