BRAINERD — A seven-run fourth inning sparked the Brainerd Warriors to a 10-0 Game One win over Fergus Falls in their Central Lakes Conference doubleheader Tuesday, May 3, at Adamson Field.
Brainerd scored two in the bottom of the second. The Warriors started the inning with three straight hits — singles by Brody Lund and Adam Jensen and a double by Riley DeRosier that scored Lund.
After a fielder’s choice, Eric Eidenshink hit a sacrifice fly which scored DeRosier to make it 2-0 Warriors.
Isaac Hanson started Game One for the Warriors and allowed just one hit over five innings. He struck out 11 and struck out the side in three innings. He walked one and hit one batter.
The one Fergus Falls hit was a lead-off double by Collin Becker in the second inning.

In the seven-run fourth for Brainerd, Lund, again, led off the inning with a single. He scored on an error by the Otters’ third baseman on a Jensen ground ball. DeRosier then launched his second double of the game to drive in Jensen, who reached second on the error.
After back-to-back outs, the Warriors reached the top of the order and scored five of the seven runs in the fourth inning with two outs.
A Mitchell Brau single scored DeRosier. Brau finished 2-for-4 during Game One.
After Hanson walked, the runners were on the corners and a double steal scored Brau.
Hanson reached third on an error by the catcher and scored on Cayden Kleffman’s second single which made it 7-0 Warriors.
Jonathan Benson ripped a single and then Brody Lund walked to load the bases for Jensen.
After an Otters pitching change, Jensen ripped a two-run single to make it 9-0 and cap off the seven-run inning.
“Our approach was really good and we put the ball in play and forced Fergus Falls to make the plays and we had a lot of good two outs at-bats in there, too,” Warriors head coach Trent Grams said.

Hanson sent down the Otters with three strikeouts in the top of the fifth and he then ripped his second double to get the mercy in the bottom of the fifth.
Hanson’s double followed an Eidenshink single and a Brau single.
