Cross-Country: Drietz, Warrior girls place 2nd at Rey Zimney Stampede

PIERZ — Hannah Drietz finished second with a time of 19:32.7 for Brainerd in the Rey Zimney Stampede Monday, Sept. 19, in Pierz.

Drietz helped the Warrior girls place second as a team with 65 points — two points behind St. Cloud Cathedral.

Other notable finishers for Brainerd were Brooke Wenz in sixth with a time of 20:16.7 and Katelyn Kennedy in ninth in 20:26.9.

Little Falls’ Grace Leclair placed fifth in 20:10.1 to help the Flyers finish third in the girls.

Pierz’s girls placed fourth behind Carissa Andres 21:01.1. Crosby-Ironton’s girls were 11th with Anna Westin running the best time of 22:53.9.

Little Falls’ boys placed fifth with Wyatt Baum netting a top 10 finish with a 17:50.7 time.

The Warrior boys were seventh with Ben Stadum leading the way with a 18:09.4 to be 12th.

Pierz boys finished 11th with Nathan Tax finishing ninth with a time of 17:59.1.

Crosby-Ironton’s Joe Ringhand ran in 19:17.2.
