Girls Golf: Olson ties for second, leads Warriors to 3rd

The Brainerd Warriors opened their season at Alexandria.

ALEXANDRIA — Izzy Olson tied for second and was just one shot away from medalist honors Wednesday, April 27, at the Alexandria Invite.

The Brainerd Warriors junior fired an 80 to lead the Warriors into a tie for third place with a team score of 360.

Olson’s fired nines of 41-39 and aside from one double bogey stayed away from big numbers at the Alexandria Golf Club.

Teammate Katie Foley shot an eighth-place 85. Sophia Karsnia shot 95 and Madelyn Holmstrom a 100 for the Warriors 360 in their first event of the season.

Alexandria, led by Hannah Boraas’ 79, won the tournament.
