Girls Swimming and Diving: Warriors make waves at Apollo

The Brainerd Warriors faced St. Cloud Apollo Thursday, Sept. 8.

ST. CLOUD — Kaia Iske was a double winner and Izzy Olson won her second straight diving competition as the Brainerd Warriors knocked off the St. Cloud Apollo Eagles 121-60 Thursday, Sept. 8.

Iske won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:31.0 and nicked Mya Tautges to win the 100 butterfly in 1:04.12. Tautges, who won the 50 freestyle, swam the butterfly in 1:05.51.

Scarlett Anderson won the 200 freestyle and finished second in the 100 free behind Isabelle Ploof who was part of the winning medley relay with Avery Duerr, Mariah Alderson and Sophie Mattson.

Duerr won the breaststroke and was part of the winning 200 free relay with Tautges, Gabby Chalupsky and Ella McCulley.

Autumn Larson won the 500 freestyle whale Greta Geary won the 100 backstroke for Brainerd.

Olson posted a first-place 255.6 to win the diving. Brenna Deason placed second and Evie Helsene third as all three Warriors surpassed 200 points.
