DULUTH — Brainerd’s Lila Collins advanced to the semifinals of Section 7-2A Individual Tournament when she defeated Katelyn Torrel of Rock Ridge 1-6, 6-0, 6-2 Tuesday, Oct. 11.
Collins won her opening round match 6-4, 6-4 and her second round match 6-2, 6-3. She improves her record to 24-4 on the season
Ella Chaussee made it to the quarterfinals before falling to her Rock Ridge opponent Lydia Delich.
Chaussee won her opening round match 6-1, 6-2 and her second round match 6-4, 1-6, 6-3.
Claire Erdal and Ericah Folden reached the quarterfinals in doubles before losing. The other Brainerd duo of Ellie Brown and Lydia Omberg lost in the second round.
Pequot Lakes’ Peyton Mudgett- Ellie Ouradnik advanced to the quarterfinals and were defeated by a pair from Hibbing.
In singles, Patriots Quinn Trottier and Allyson Yahn won their opening round matches, but both lost in the second round.
The other Pequot doubles team of Kelbee Lampi and Aubrey Wiczek reached the second round.
