CHISAGO LAKES — Facing the unknown the Brainerd Warriors didn’t flinch as they picked up a pair of 4-3 victories Wednesday, Aug. 24, against a pair of Section 7-2A opponents.

Brainerd defeated Forest Lake 4-3 before topping Chisago Lakes 4-3.

“We met two competitive teams and we had not seen these teams before,” Warrior head coach Lisa Salo said. “We pulled out two wins and it was really gritty, good tennis. We’re happy with how we played.

“Our depth was such a positive factor for our team and it really came through against Forest Lake. For the Forest Lake match, it came down to our No. 2 doubles team and they won that. Then against Chisago, it went down to the wire as well. We had two matches on the courts with Kamryn Kraemer at No. 4 singles and that was her first varsity win.”

Hannah Hayes, Brooklyn Dietz and Lauren Kline all finished 3-0 in doubles play for Brainerd, which improved to 4-0 for the season.
