PINE RIVER — A 12-point fourth quarter helped the Pine River-Backus Tigers rally for a 30-22 Section 6-1A victory over the Menahga Braves and improve to 3-0 Friday, Sept. 16.
The Tigers used a balanced attack as they threw for 199 yards and rushed for 205 yards to amass 404 yards compared to Menhaga’s 254.
Irvin Tulenchik was 9-of-19 passing for 199 yards and three touchdowns. He connected with three different receivers for scores as he hit Carson Travis on an 8-yard TD, Ethan Rugroden on a 66-yard TD and Ethan Lodge on a 35-yard TD pass.
Tulenchik also rushed for 99 yards on 19 carries. Ethan Lodge rushed 19 times for 86 yards and both fourth-quarter touchdowns.
