Legion Baseball: Fergus sweeps Brainerd at home

BRAINERD — Mitchell Brau doubled and drove in two runs, but the Brainerd Legion fell to Fergus Falls 8-4 in Game One and then 11-5 in Game Two to Fergus Falls Thursday, June 30.

In the opener, Brody Lund and Alex Helmin posted two hits and each scored once.

Adam Jensen struck out seven over five innings, but suffered the loss. He allowed six runs on eight hits and one walk.

In Game Two, Alex Helmin collected three hits.

Jack Schafer threw four innings and struck out six but was tagged with the Game Two loss. He allowed 10 runs, nine earned, on nine hits and two walks. Nash Slettom threw three innings of relief. He struck out one and allowed one run on five hits and two walks.

Helmin finished 3-4 with a run. Cayden Kleffman recorded Brainerd’s lone RBI and Jensen and Eli Owen tallied Brainerd’s other hits.
