Brainerd International Raceway fans will be treated to some of the top amateur drag racing in the Upper Midwest this weekend and an open track day for motorcycle riders, both for just $10 Sunday, July 8.
The Bracket Drag Racing Series starts the second half of its season when more than 250 racers are expected to battle on the quarter-mile track for the fifth of eight weekends this summer. With valuable points on the line and series championships in the balance, drivers will be on the track starting at 9 a.m., Saturday, July 7, and Sunday, July 8. Time trials and qualifying are followed by elimination rounds, which result in winners crowned at the end of each day.
While drag racers are on the drag strip, BIR's road course will be busy with Road Closed Promotion's Open Track Day for motorcycle riders Saturday and Sunday. Road Closed opens BIR's track to motorcycle riders who want to improve their riding skills and challenge themselves in a safe environment. Riders get 15-minute sessions on the track and are grouped based on riding levels.
Daily admission is $25 Saturday but only $10 on Sunday. Kids 12 and under are free. Parking is free as well as camping with a multi-day ticket.
