Rykken Johnson took first place in the men’s lightweight single division in the Northwest International Regatta Saturday, July 23, in Kenora, Canada.

Johnson, who is the Brainerd High School Rowing Club coach, helped lead Eli and Gabe Hallgren to a fourth-place finish in the junior men’s double division.

Teams competing were from Winnipeg, Edmonton, Kenora, Duluth, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Long Lake, Lake Phalen as well as Brainerd.
