Running: Baird, Johnson pace Warrior Homecoming Run

Owen Baird and Mary Johnson set the pace in the Brainerd Warrior Homecoming Run Oct. 6.

Baird was the overall and male 10K winner with a time of 38:54. Johnson was the female 10K winner at 46:25.

In the 5K, Chad Stadum was the male winner at 21:12 and Emily Bastian the female winner at 23:02.

The 10K runner-up was Steve Selisker at 40:36 followed by Gregg Day (42:08). The 5K second-place finisher was Trent Norlin (21:24) and third place went to Braden Capelle (21:25).

The event attracted more than 250 runners/walkers. It started at Kiwanis Park with the 10K run and a 5K run/walk. Runners crossed the finish line on the track at Don Adamson Field. A 1K fun run was conducted on the track for the second time.

All proceeds from this run benefited the Brainerd Public Schools Foundation and the Brainerd Warrior Nordic ski team.
