ELK RIVER - Katie Streiff and Hannah McKeag recorded the fastest times and are seeded No. 1 in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke, respectively, following the prelims of the Section 8-2A meet Friday night.
McKeag's time of 58.70 met qualifying standards for the state meet and Streiff advances to the finals in a second event with a sixth-place finish in the 50 freestyle.
Alison Crum is seeded third in the 200 and 500 freestyles.
Madelynn Gibbons and Julia Wallace are tied for the sixth seed in the 200 individual medley. Wallace also qualified for the 100 backstroke finals in sixth place and Gibbons is eighth in the 500 freestyle.
Alyssa Williams met the finals cut placing sixth in the 200 freestyle and eighth in the 100 freestyle.

Brainerd relay teams qualified third in the 200 medley relay, fifth in the 400 freestyle and eighth in the 200 freestyle.
Finals are scheduled for Saturday at Elk River with diving starting at noon and swimming finals at 4 p.m.
