Soccer: Brainerd boys seeded 1, girls 7

The Brainerd boys soccer team landed the No. 1 seed for the Section 8-2A playoffs, which will start 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct, 10, when the Warriors host No. 8 seed Buffalo at Adamson Field.

The Warrior girls landed in the No. 7 seed and open the Section 8-2A playoffs at No. 2 St. Michael-Albertville 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10.

For the girls bracket, Maple Grove is the No. 1 seed and earned a first-round bye. Rogers is the No. 3 seed and will host No. 6 Buffalo. No. 4 Moorhead hosts No. 5 Elk River in the other quarterfinals.

The Warrior girls finished the regular season 11-3-1 overall, but just 0-3-1 against section opponents. The one tie was against STMA Thursday, Oct. 3.

On the boys side, Maple Grove got the No. 2 seed and will host No. 7 Osseo. No. 3 Moorhead will host No. 6 Rogers and No. 4 Elk River will host No. 5 St. Michael-Albertville.


The Warrior boys finished the regular season 10-1-2 overall and 2-0 against section opponents. The Warriors are on a three-game winning streak and a 10-game unbeaten streak. Brainerd and Buffalo did not play against each other in the regular season.

Semifinals games will be at the high seed Saturday, Oct. 12, with the championship game Oct. 15 at the highest remaining seed.

Ticket prices are $8 for adults and $5 for students. No regular season passes will be allowed.
