SARTELL -- Brainerd’s Gabbie Smith recorded four goals for the Warriors as they crushed the Sartell Sabres 6-0 in a Central Lakes Conference matchup Thursday, Sept 5.

Smith scored back-to-back goals late in the first half and again back-to-back early in the second following the score by Josie Kramer. Smith has now tallied nine goals this season.

Brainerd has now won 23 straight conference games. It’s last conference loss was to Sartell Oct. 10, 2016.

Kramer netted a goal and claimed two assists, as did Emma Smith. Olivia Tautges and Lexi McElfresh also recorded assists.

“First half played out well and it made it tough on us,” said Warrior head coach Grant Gmeinder. “The girls had to figure out the game and solve some problems. The first 15 minutes of the second half was as good as we’ve played all year, the girls were creative in finding each other. They had a good first half and built on the passing.”
