The Brainerd Blast Soccer Club had a solid start to the spring soccer season this past weekend in the Eagan Wave Future Stars Tournament.
Due to COVID, the 2020 season was canceled and the players were very excited to get back out on the pitch. The U9, U12 Boys teams both brought home the championship trophies in their divisions, while the U15 boys placed second.
The U16 boys finished in third place, and there were also some promising results from the club’s youngest teams in the Jamboree divisions.
The next tournament for the Brainerd Blast Soccer Club will be June 5 at the Northeast United Summer Classic in Minneapolis.
In addition, registration is now open for the summer recreational soccer training program offered by the Blast during the month of June. The program is led by the Brainerd Warrior girls soccer head coach, Grant Gmeinder. The program is open to boys and girls ages 4 to 10, with sessions held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the Southdale Park soccer fields in Baxter. Registration is open now, and all program details can be found online at brainerdblast.com/rec.
