Softball: Warrior softball clinic April 1

The first Brainerd Warrior Softball Clinic, featuring Dr. Abby Rehberger, is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon April 1 at Forestview Middle School in Baxter.

The first Brainerd Warrior Softball Clinic, featuring Dr. Abby Rehberger, is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon April 1 at Forestview Middle School in Baxter.

Rehberger is a member of the Warriors Hall of Fame and is a former Division I softball. She will be assisted by other Warrior alumni.

Rehberger, owner of Optimize Physical Therapy and Elite Sport Performance, will speak for an hour on prevention of injury, return to play programs and sport optimization. Parents are encouraged to listen to the presentation.

For the next two hours, Rehberger, the Warrior softball staff and Warrior players will conduct a clinic focused on being a consistent and powerful hitter, throwing with speed and accuracy and fundamentals of fielding. Varsity players will be paired with younger athletes to provide a hands-on experience.

Cost is $10 per person or $20 per family. The clinic will be indoors unless it's dry and more than 50 degrees outside.

Anyone interested in attending should RSVP Warriors head coach Shane Jordan at shane.jordan@isd181.org . Participants may pay at the door. Checks should be made payable to Brainerd Softball.

Rehberger played softball for Brainerd and the universities of Minnesota and North Dakota. She is currently a coach for Roseville High School and the Minnesota Force.

She earned a bachelor of arts degree in kinesiology from the University of Minnesota, a minor in psychology and coaching from UND and a physical therapy degree from Concordia University of Wisconsin.
