COLD SPRING - Maddie Ellingson finished 2-for-3 for Brainerd but the Rocori Spartans snapped the Warriors' 6-game win streak with a 5-4 victory in Central Lakes Conference play Friday.

Rocori scored four times in the first and built a 5-0 edge after four innings before the Warriors scored three times in the fifth and once in the seventh.

It was the regular-season finale for the Warriors who entered the contest tied for the conference lead with Alexandria. Brainerd had won five of its last six games by shutout and had outscored opponents 50-1 this month.

An RBI double by Brooke Mimmack, sacrifice fly by Lexi Roby, and single by Kylie Lange rallied the Warriors.

In the top of the seventh, the Warriors scored on Roby's RBI single before leaving the tying run on third base to end the ballgame.
