SAUK RAPIDS - Freshman Elaina Christiansen went 4-for-6 as the Brainerd Warriors rolled to their fifth and sixth straight victories 2-1 and 8-0 over the Sauk Rapids Storm in Central Lakes Conference play Tuesday.
Madi Hill pitched two complete games for Brainerd which has outscored its opponents 50-1 in those six wins and entered the doubleheader tied for the CLC lead. In the two games, Hill allowed eight hits and one earned run with one walk and eight strikeouts.
"Tonight we played great team defense, and Madi Hill pitched very well again," Warriors coach Shane Jordan said. "We are playing really good softball right now. The girls are finding their identity and everyone is contributing to the success we are having on the field."
In Game One, Christiansen drove in the winning run with a double in the sixth. Hill contributed an RBI single in the first. Kylie Lange finished 2-3 for the Warriors.
Christiansen went 3-3 with a 2-run triple in Game Two. Maddy Stall was 2-3 with a 2-run double and Lange added an RBI single.
