Softball: Warriors rally once, not twice against Rocori

Clare Ceynowa

Clare Ceynowa cranked a two-out, three-run, walk-off homer in the bottom of the seventh to give the Brainerd Warriors a 7-6 victory over the Rocori Spartans in the first game of a Central Lakes Conference doubleheader Friday at Adamson Field in Brainerd.

It was Rocori's turn for a one-run win the second game, holding off a Warrior rally for a 5-4 victory.

In the opening game, Brainerd managed just six hits, but four went for extra bases, including a bases-loaded triple by Elaina Christiansen and doubles by Emma Korhonen and Olivia Tautges.

Ceynowa went 2-3 and added a double in the second game. Jenna Meyer also had two hits and Lexi Robi drove in two.

The Warriors trailed 5-1 after six innings before plating three in the top of the seventh on a Rocori error and singles by Jenna Meyer, Korhonen and Roby.

Jordyn Sullivan pitched both games for the Warriors.

Brainerd and Rocori own matching 7-2 conference records.
