COLD SPRING-Kasia Kroll went a combined 5-7 with three runs as the Central Lakes Conference leading Brainerd Warriors swept the Rocori Spartans 3-1, 6-5 Friday, May 10.

In Game One, Kroll went 3-4 with a one. Olivia Tautges hit a two-run double and Clare Ceynowa hit a solo home run.

Abby Pelowski struck out five and allowed just one run on five hits and no walks.

"Senior Captain Abby Pelowski pitched another great game," Warriors head coach Shane Jordan said. "She is such a gritty competitor and I'm glad she is on my team. Junior captain Clare Ceynowa had a home run and continued to be a great leader on and off the field."

Warrior Emma Tautges struck out nine over seven innings of work in Game Two. She allowed five runs, four earned, on eight hits and two walks.

Karlie Anderson was 1-1 with two RBIs. Kroll was 2-3 with two runs and Jordyn Sullivan, Chloe Munsch and Emma Tautges each drove in a run for Brainerd.

"I'm loving the fight that this team has for each other after they found a way to come back from 4-0 and 5-2 deficits," Jordan said. "Emma Tautges pitched very well. Senior captain Jordyn Sullivan had a huge hit in the bottom of the sixth inning and made several key defensive plays throughout the two games."
