Area Softball: Gobblers triple up Pine City

PINE CITY—Camryn Leiviska finished 2-3 with a two-run home run and a double as Aitkin defeated Pine City 9-3 in a Section 7-2A matchup Tuesday, May 14

Brooke Hanson smashed a triple and tallied two RBIs.

Pitcher Kailey Piekkenpol pitched five innings and struck out 10 batters to get the win.

Little Falls 13, Foley 4

FOLEY—Allie Steinmetz went 3-5 with a double, scored two runs, drove in two and was the winning pitcher for the Little Falls Flyers in a 13-4 Granite Ridge Conference victory over the Foley Falcons Tuesday, May 14.

The Flyers collected 18 hits, including seven doubles, while picking up their second win.

Carly Kapphahn ripped two doubles and Marre Welinski, Madison Segler, Sierra Kicker and Vy Do had one each along with Steinmetz.

Welinksi and Do each had three hits and two stolen bases and Abby Poser stole four bases.

Tigers' Avery Trout went 2-2 with two runs and an RBI while Kalli King recorded a triple. Annabelle Knapp recorded a double and three RBIs for PRB in the Upper Mississippi Conference game.

Bailey Wynn of PRB went 1-3 with a double, a run scored and an RBI in the non-conference game.

Pierz wins 2

PIERZ—Pierz's Emily Sadlovsky allowed only six hits and struck out eight over 12 innings of work as the Pierz Pioneers swept Howard Lake-Waverly 2-1 and 12-6 in a Central Minnesota Conference doubleheader Tuesday, May 14.

Sadlovsky struck out seven and allowed one earned run on four hits and three walks in Game One. Ella Kalusche was 2-3 with two runs and a walkoff home run. Taylor Cummings hit an RBI double.

Victoria Wagner pitched the Game Two win, but Sadlovsky pitched the final three innings.

Wagner struck out one and allowed six runs, three earned, on four hits and three walks.

Sadlovsky allowed two hits and a walk and struck out one.

BHV wins two

BERTHA—Tess Jones went 4-8 with a double, two triples, three runs and was the winning pitcher in Game One as the Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale Raiders defeated Ottertail Central 10-1 and 13-1 in a Park Region Conference doubleheader Tuesday, May 14.

Kaija Weishalla was 3-3 with a double and two RBIs for BHV in the first game. Melanie Line finished 2-3 with three RBIs and Morgan Glenz doubled.

In the nightcap, Glenz went 3-4 with triple, three RBIs and scored three runs while Jones was 3-4 with a double and a triple. Winning pitcher Melanie Line ripped a pair of doubles. Mikayla Hinzmann, Mardi Ehrmantraut and Molly Brownlow collected multiple hits.
