ALEXANDRIA — Ellie Skeesick struck out seven over seven innings to pitch the Little Falls Flyers to a 6-3 victory over Eden Valley-Watkins before the Flyers fell 6-5 to the Alexandria Cardinals Saturday, May 1.

Kendra Couture finished 2-2 with a triple, two runs and two RBIs. Ellia Zimmerman drove in two runs while Samy Tembreull and Korrin Gwost were 2-4 with a run.

In the loss to Alexandria, Izzy Dukowitz was 2-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI. Mikayla Faust was 2-3 with two RBIs and Couture and Zimmerman each drove in a run.

Pequot Lakes drops 3

BECKER — Morgan Eckes finished with 18 total strikeouts, but the Pequot Lakes Patriots suffered three losses Saturday, May 1, at the Becker tournament.

Pequot opened with a 7-1 loss to Becker. Maci Martini doubled and Kaitlyn Geschwill finished 2-4. Brea Eckes collected Pequot’s other hit.

Morgan Ecks pitched the loss. She struck out six Bulldogs, but a four-run first inning by Becker proved too much to overcome.

The Patriots allowed four runs in the first inning of a 12-8 loss to Maple Lake in Game Two.

Morgan Eckes struck out 14 Rocori Spartans, but Pequot fell 5-1.

Martini drove in Madison Lucas for Pequot’s lone run.

Aitkin drops 3

ST. LOUIS PARK — The Aitkin Gobblers finished 0-3 at the Benilde-St. Margaret’s tournament Saturday, May 1.

The Gobblers opened with an 11-1 loss to the host Red Knights and then posted an 8-5 loss to St. Louis Park before falling to Jordan 17-0 in the third round.

Aitkin falls to 3-6 overall and will host Crosby-Ironton for a Mid-State Conference doubleheader 4 p.m Tuesday, May 4.
