AITKIN — Ella Janzen went a combined 4-7 with six runs and three RBIs to lead the Aitkin Gobblers to an 8-4, 18-5 Mid-State Conference sweep of Crosby-Ironton Tuesday, May 4.

In Game One, Kortney Lamke went 1-4 with two runs and one RBI. Ally Ehnstrom and Ailie Kullhem also drove in runs for Aitkin. C-I’s Briana Miller, Mya Decent and Mackenzie Weber all had two hits with Decent adding two RBIs.

In Game Two, Ehnstrom was 1-3 with a double, three runs and two RBIs. Camryn Leiviska went 2-3 with two runs and Lauren Ratz drove in two runs for Aitkin.

C-I’s Decent was 3-4 with a run and two RBIs. Miller was 2-3 with a run and Kathryn Kovatovich scored twice.

LITTLE FALLS — Koorin Gwost and Ellia Zimmerman each tallied four hits totals in Little Falls’ split with Milaca in a Granite Ridge Conference doubleheader 7-3, 5-3 Tuesday, May 4.

Ellie Skeesick pitched in both games and earned the win in Game One and the loss in Game Two.

Mikayla Faust went 2-4 with a run scored in Game Two.

PIERZ — Emily Dehler and Emily Sadlovsky each blasted seventh-inning home runs for the Pierz Pioneers in their 5-4 Game One win over Zimmerman in a Granite Ridge Conference doubleheader Tuesday, May 4.

Tori Wagner pitched all seven innings and picked up the win with eight strikeouts.

Halle Zupan launched a home run in Game Two for Pierz in a 9-8 loss. Brenna Dickmann went 3-5 with an RBI as well.

Pillager wins 2

PILLAGER — Brooklyn Rudrud tallied two hits in each game, including a home run in Game Two, as the Pillager Huskies swept the Ottertail Central Bulldogs in a Park Region Conference doubleheader 5-2 and 13-0 Tuesday, May 4.

Rudrud tallied four RBIs along with her two hits in Game Two.

Jenna Woidyla added a double in each game for Pillager and four hits total.

Briana Blais earned the win in both games and struck out a total of 16 batters in 13 innings pitched.

PRB wins 2

PINE RIVER — Ramsey Tulenchik tallied four total hits as the Pine River-Backus Tigers won their seventh straight game with a doubleheader sweep over Walker-Hackensack-Akeley in an Upper Mississippi Conference match-up Tuesday, May 4.

Tulenchik collected two hits and a double in the 9-7 Game One win for PRB. Her teammate Danielle Burgoyne homered with two hits as the Tigers pounded out eight hits total.

In the nightcap, the Tigers scored three runs in the top of the fifth to take a 9-6 lead and held on in the bottom of the fifth for the 9-7 win.

Tulenchik, Gracie Crimmins and Ashley Shamp each finished with two hits as PRB halted the Wolves' five-game winning streak.

In Game Two, Mikalya Richards hit a triple. Gonzalez went 2-3 and Amanda Carter and Jade Story each collected a hit.

Hailey Hudalla was 2-4 with one run and one RBI and was the winning pitcher in Game One.

Reagan Ludovissie was 2-3 with a double and Mary Kern drove in a run.

In Game Two, Madison Schmitz went 4-5 with a home run, a double, two runs and three RBIs. Hailey Hudalla was 4-5 with a double and one RBI. Miranda Line went 2-3 with a double, two runs and one RBI.
