The Brainerd Warrior sophomore football team lost its first game of the season 14-6 to the Moorhead Spuds Monday.
Moorhead outgained the Warriors with 252 total yards on offense to Brainerd's 212 yards. Max Zimmerman scored the only touchdown for Brainerd with a 4-yard run.
Brainerd had one turnover which led to a Moorhead touchdown. The Warrior defense came up strong in the second half and forced the Spuds to turn the ball over twice on fourth down.
The Warriors host Alexandria at 5 p.m. Monday at Adamson Field.
