State Gymnastics: Deason earns fourth on the floor at state

CHAMPLIN PARK — Brainerd’s Brenna Deason scored a 9.5 on the floor to earn fourth place in the Class 2A State Individuals Saturday, March 27, at Champlin Park High School.

In her third appearance at state, Deason improved on her 40th-place finish last year to get a top-five finish in 2021.

Deason also competed on the vault where she scored a 9.375 which put in 23rd. In 2020, she placed 22nd at state on the vault.

Josie Harguth also competed at state on the beam. She scored an 8.75 which put her in 29th.
