BARROWS-Tim Gonska won for the fifth time while Modified point leader Aaron Johnson won his first race of the season as North Central Speedway reached the halfway point of the season Saturday, June 29.

There were also two makeup races from a rain shortened event June 15. Travis Roush took the checkered flag in the Sport Compact makeup feature. Shawn Fletcher was the winner in the Modified makeup race.

20 cars made the feature race for the Mod 4 class, but there was just one caution flag in the 15-lap feature event and it was Mitchell Hribar winning for the first time this season. Adam Prieve finished out of the top three, but is dominating the class in the points race with a 93-point cushion over Gerrald Nohner.

Zach Besmehn, Travis Roush and Derek Stanoch staged a battle in the Sport Compact feature and it was Besmehn coming away with the win-his second of the season. Roush holds an 11-point advantage over Besmehn in the points race.

Tim Gonska holds a 23-point lead over teammate Michael Nelson in the Hobby Stock class and was going for his fifth win of the season. Chris Seidel was looking for his first win and the veteran driver was running out front for the first half of the race, but Gonska caught him to nail down his fifth win with Seidel coming in second.

Troy Jordan got the win in the Sport Mod feature where David Siercks hold a seven-point lead over Jacob Jordan and a nine-point advantage over Jake Hagemann, the tightest margin in all the classes.

Tim Johnson won his fourth race in a row in the Super Stock feature. Dylan Nelson finished outside the top three, but holds a 38-point lead over Seth Kramer.

Aaron Johnson holds a 14-point lead over Shawn Fletcher, but hadn't made a trip to the winners podium in the 2019 season. That changed Saturday as Johnson took the lead from Luke Hines on lap eight of the 20-lap feature. The two sparred for the top spot for the rest of the race before Johnson, running on the high side of the track, won by a car length at the checkered flag
