BARROWS — Wissota Mod 4 driver Adam Prieve woke up the echoes of 2019 with his first feature win of the season Saturday, June 12, at North Central Speedway.
Prieve started from the second row and led the pack with the hard-charging Tommy Bawden just behind him. Bawden’s and Prieve's cars got together resulting in Bawden leaving the race with car damage after bringing out the caution flag. Prieve got his spot back in the front and he held off all challengers in the green-white-checker finish to claim his first win of the season.
It was Prieve's year in 2019 at NCS as he raced to seven wins on his way to a points championship. But in 2020 he fell off a bit, recording just two wins in seven races, half the total races held at the track in the shortened season.
With a new car, Prieve has raced in just three of the eight feature races held at the speedway. Saturday night's win could be the start of things to come for Prieve in 2021.
Nine drivers made the field for the Stock Car feature race, including Modified driver Aaron Johnson's first start of the season in a stock car. Johnson finished in sixth place with the win going to Chris Toot.

Tim Gonka took the early lead on lap three and held that up until lap 11 when he dropped back into fifth place before recovering to take the third place spot behind Darin Toot.
Modified driver Scott Engholm broke through for his first career feature win. Dylan Nelson started last in the eight-car Super Stock field and patiently moved through traffic, overtaking Dustin Nelson on lap 19. Dylan Nelson held on the last lap for the win.
Mark Martini, Brandon Bombardo and Nathan Kohl also made it to victory lane with first place finishes.
