Stock Car Racing: Severson, Kendall pick up first wins at NCS

BARROWS - Troy Jordan won his second straight feature race while Billy Kendall and Dan Severson made their first career appearances on the winner's podium Saturday night at North Central Speedway.

Brendon Yamry, one of a talented crop of teenage drivers, won again in the Sport Compact feature to continue an impressive start to the season.

Jordan was the beneficiary of a caution flag thrown on lap nine of the 15-lap feature. Prior to the caution Jordan was sitting in fourth place but he got a great push on the restart and surged to the front and beat Justin Jones by half-car length to get his second win in as many weeks.

Kendall drove in two classes and finished in the top three in both as he got his first career win in the Northern Sport Modified class. He also took second behind Aaron Johnson in the Street Stock feature.

Severson started from the second row in the Modified feature and found himself in second place behind Dylan Nelson with six laps left. He made his move on the low side and passed Nelson on turn two. Severson stayed out front to earn his first career Super Stock feature win at NCS.

Newcomer Jason Havel won the Pure Stock feature while Mitchell Hribar scored another win in the Mod 4 feature.
