Senior Siri Smith won the 100-yard backstroke, 200 individual medley and was part of the winning 200 medley relay during the Brainerd Warriors 110.5-75.5 non-conference win over the Bemidji Lumberjacks Tuesday.
"It's always good to get the first one out of the way," Warriors' coach Dan Anderson said. " It's always hard to swim fast and dive well this early in the season, but you have to do it. I was impressed.
"I felt really good about Aylah Pagel (who finished first in the 50 and 100 freestyles). I believe that was her first two varsity wins and she got two in the same night.
"It was a good start (for the Warriors), but I told the girls we have to be better to beat Sauk Rapids on Thursday night."
Katy Etterman won the diving and Brainerd's 200 free relay of Grace Bymark, Laura Boran, Pagel and Stephanie Hansen also finished first.
